Easy TCA Peel

This peel is considered to be one of the safest, most effective Trichlormacetic Acid (TCA) peels available today. The advantages of this TCA peel are that no pre peel preparation is required for the majority of skin types and inflammation is reduced, so there is little down time.

The final result is a potent, medical strength, medium depth peel that is less traumatic than other TCA peels and yet more effective in treating scarring, photo damage and hyper pigmentation.

Suitable for the treatment of photo-aging, hyper-pigmentation, melasma and fine lines.

Recommended as a course of 4 peels, at one week intervals.

Single Treatment                      £150
Course of 4 Peels                     £550

Timeless Peel

What is a TCA Peel?

Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) can be successful in the effective treatment of:

  • Fine wrinkles
  • Superficial blemishes
  • Pigmentation problems
  • Acne / Acne scarring

What does the procedure involve?

Anaesthesia is not required for TCA peels. The skin is first thoroughly cleansed. A chemical solution of TCA is carefully applied to the skin. You may feel a slight tingling or stinging sensation as the peel solution is applied, but the feeling will quickly pass. A post peel mask is then applied. The procedure usually takes no more than 15 minutes.

Is it right for me?

During your consultation it is important that you discuss your expectations. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or express any concerns you may have. The procedure will be explained in detail, including the risks and benefits, the recovery period, and the costs.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you should postpone treatment. If you have a history of cold sores, you should inform us prior to treatment.

What are the risks?

All products have a potential for allergic reactions. It is important that you inform us of any allergies you may have. Transient reactions may include redness to the skin, itchiness, dryness and in rare cases swelling.

It is common for most patients to experience transient hyperpigmentation. This will settle during the course of treatments and with use of the appropriate treatment creams and sun protection. Although very rare, there may be in some cases a risk of blistering.

What should I expect  following a peel?

Day 1
You will leave the clinic with the post peel mask applied. This is translucent and non-oily. Your skin will look slightly red for a couple of hours and will generally feel comfortable. You should not touch the skin, apply any creams or use water on the face and avoid extremes of heat exposure and sun exposure.
Day 2
The skin will begin to feel tight and the treatment creams should be applied morning and night. Sun protection atleast factor 25 should be applied throughout the day.
Day 3
Some pigmentation change may be noticed at this stage as the skin begins to dry and may start to flake. Continue to use the treatment creams and sun protection.
Days 4-7
The skin continues to peel and the healing process takes place. Continue to use the treatment creams and sun protection. Do not attempt to peel off the skin or use abrasives scrub creams or products containing AHA’s or Retinol.

How many peels are needed to get the desired result?

It depends on the amount of damage already inherent within the skin. Hyperpigmentation, Melasma and acne scaring tend to take longer to treat as these conditions lie deeper in the dermis and are unlikely to be resolved with any single peel. In some cases, two or more courses of TCA peels may be needed to obtain the desired result.
